SafeNet Marketing Campaign Brings 'Peace and Love' to Software Licensing

I did not make it to San Francisco for the Summer of Love in 1967, which historians say was a seminal event that gave rise to the “counterculture” revolution. However, as a child of the 1960s, I remember it fondly – “Flower Power” and all.
For those who follow me, you know I appreciate good marketing campaigns, and SafeNet’s (News - Alert) “Peace, Love & Licensing” is one of them. Yes, I am a sucker for 1960s nostalgia, but the entire package is well done.
From the impressive enticements, bling, premiums and the wonderful plays off the theme, they deserve a tip of the hat.
Putting aside appreciation of great marketing, there are very important business reasons to become educated about sophisticated software monetization technology. As a result of the movement to the cloud and the emergence of software as a service (SaaS (News
- Alert)), the independent software vendor (ISV) community finds itself at a tipping point in terms of how best to monetize their products and services.
Equally critical is the need to do so in a manner that is easily managed and monitored.
There is a revolution taking place and having the right Licensing strategy and execution is critical, along with making sure your company is following best practices covering all aspects of the delivery and optimization of software from a user as well as vendor perspective.
The famous Scott McKenzie song, “San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flowers in Your Hair)," above, was written by John Phillips of The Mamas & the Papas. It was released in June 1967 to promote the infamous Monterey Pop Festival.
If you are interested in software monetization (and you should be), you might wish to evaluate how you feel about wearing flowers in your hair as the song suggests. However, one thing you should do is go to the resource center for Peace, Love & Licensing. Enjoy the opportunity to participate in the promotional activities for some fun, and check out the program and SafeNet’s software monetization page to gain valuable insight.
